It’s your chance to win big and shop small—all while supporting a great cause
The annual Lutefisk Dinner at Norse Hall is one of our biggest events of the year—and a major fundraiser for the Grieg Lodge Scholarship Fund. Open to the public and held each November, this beloved tradition features four seatings (noon, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm), serving up to 500 guests throughout the day. The menu includes classic Scandinavian fare: lutefisk (of course!), cream, butter, potatoes, Swedish meatballs with gravy, red cabbage, and dessert. The bar is open all day, and yes—there’s always Aquavit.
Alongside the meal, the Bucket Raffle and Scandinavian Sale offer even more ways to support GLSF. Raffle prizes include coastal hotel stays, Mt. Hood resort getaways, local experiences like wine tastings and dinners, handcrafted art, themed gift baskets, and membership gift certificates. Tickets are sold in advance at lodge events and meetings, and also at the door. Winners are drawn after the final seating and notified by phone, text, or email—no need to be present to win! (Pro tip: bring address labels to save time filling out tickets.)
The Scandinavian Sale is a super-sized version of our regular Landhandel gift shop. Think: books, art, sweaters, cookware, and vintage Scandinavian collectibles—many of them donated by community members. You might even discover a Jule (Christmas) plate from your birth or anniversary year!
The bar, Landhandel, raffle tables, and sale all open at 11:00 a.m. and stay open through the final seating. It’s a day full of tradition, good food, and great finds—all supporting scholarships for the next generation.
